Cilj:  Zamišljeno da projekat doprinese ostvarenju sledećih ciljeva: sagledavanju stanja medicine i dopinga u sportu u svim sportskim savezima Srbije, sagledavanju nedostataka u medicinskoj organizaciji sportskih saveza, prihvatanju svetskih standarda  organizacije sportskih asocijacija i unapređenju znanja svih učesnika u sportu.

Abstract

Background: Basic rationale of this project has been 5 doping positive athletes in Serbia in 2008. Apart the fact they have been doped, additional problem is raised concerning poor medical organization in their sports associations.

Aim: Project should replay on several objectives: analysis of current situation regarding medical and doping issues in sports associations of Serbia, analysis of problems regarding medical organization in sports associations, accepting European and world guidelines of education of all participants in sport.

Methods: All participants have answered on questionnaire of 4 parts: 1) facts about sports federation 2) medical organization in sports associations, 3) sportsmedicine examinations and 4) knowledge and attitude to doping in sport. Total of 35 sports associations have participated in this project.

Results: Average age of Serbian sports associations are 50 years (from 124 years, Cycling association of Serbia to 1 year Serbian association for rhythmic gymnastic). Associations are organized through 4365 clubs, 132 clubs per association but with big differences (more than 2000 clubs in Football association to 5 clubs in Ski water association of Serbia and Biathlon association of Serbia). Only 4 associations have separate women clubs (handball, table tennis, wrestling and rhythmic gymnastics) and 20 of them have women teams in mixed clubs. Total number of athletes is 250.000 (247.871 in 31 associations). Total of 25 (75,8%) sports associations claimed that have a team doctor and 13 (39,4%) that have medical commission. The majority of them are surgeons (33.3%). Neither one team doctor is employee in sports association, and only 7 (21,2%) is getting some kind of salary. Number of sports association who don’t have sportsmedicine examination are 12% and 30% don’t know what sportsmedicine examination is consisted of.

Conclusion: Situation in sports associations of Serbia is not appropriate regarding both issues medical and doping, but from the general point of you as well. It is necessary to change organization according to European and world guidelines and certain legal solutions, on the first place regarding managing the organization and second regarding organization of doping and medical system.
