Invitation of President of Sport medicine association of Serbia

Last meeting and congresses which were organized by our association showed that practical education and interactive approach are the most important. Datas from processed questionaries proved that 80 percent of all respondents want to learn about supplementation, nutrition and doping as well as exercise testing of the athletes and prevention of enjuries. During work on National strategy in sport one conclusion was made that we should more work with couches, psysicians, doctors in sport associations, especially with ones who are working with olympic candidates.

Sport medicine association of Serbia in last period tried to inform doctors who are on daily bases communicate with athletes and sport teams. Despite of that fact most of them who are directly angaged in sport medicine often apsent. The usual explanation for that inconveniences was preparticipation duties with teams and competitions. For all that we decided to organize Third congress of sport medicine on Kopaonik mountain where all participants will be separated from regular duties in period of two days and will be organized to work in groups throgh planned workshops.

During first congress we pointed out ranking of sport medicine in Serbia(126 abstracts) and during 10. European congress o- European colledge of sport science(second congress of UMSS) one hundred national authors were connected with world authorities in this field. It is logically step forward that Third congress moves on with our practical knowledge and to use it on daily bases. For accomplishment of this goal special role goes to expert literature which we translated and wrote under support and help of Directorate for sport, know named Ministry of youth and sport.

We believe that motto of this congress Team psysican-missing link should attract everyone who realised crucial role of doctors in sport, first of all in faight against doping in sport, prevention of sudden cardiac death and ejuries. UMSS idea that every sport federation in Serbia must have doctor was supported by Ministry of youth and sport and this is the way that all costs of registration and transportation for doctors in sport federation will be payed. We are sure that this could be good quality start for future work in field of Serbian sport.
